Strategic approaches to ENvironment and SUstainability (SENSU) is a research group at IST - Instituto Superior Técnico - Universidade de Lisboa, Portugal. SENSU develops research on environmental and sustainability policy, planning and assessment, exploring various features of the environment-sustainability nexus, aiming to contribute to finding and promoting pathways for sustainability.
We see our role as changing agents, contributing to innovative thinking in environment and sustainability, creating a strategic culture in policy, planning and project development, looking at environment not as a barrier, but as an opportunity, and at sustainability as the outcome of a medium to long-term development process.
